THE TRUTH BEHIND DREAMS

it fascinates us every night
to an eccentric person,it's his birth right
but beware dear fellas,watching it can prove riskier than entering a raging stream
that's the uncertainty of a dream

it's the meeting point of a genius & his art
it's the place where most successful ventures start
it marks the journey,from scratch to immortal destinations
a dream is nothing,if not an inspiration

it sets free your inhibitions
it unearths your ambitions
but just mere dreaming isn't sufficient
sorry day dreamers,but your clan loses even in the realm of fiction

dreams give you a lifeline
a thread to cling onto in despair
so that even when the whole world becomes your foe
you look straight in it's eye & stare
"write me off at your own peril",you declare

a dream can be your whole life in a nutshell
worse,it may even predict your death even before the proverbial 'death knell'
love it or hate it,believe in it or not;smile at it or scream,
the truth is,nobody really knows the actual truth behind a dream

it can be as engossing as a hollywood thriller
for the weak hearted,it could prove as dangerous as a cold blooded contract killer
when you don't quite know what's this thrill-a-minute ride's theme...
believe me guys,you could be watching a truly intense dream

MARRIAGE ADVERTISEMENT

it's that season of that year again
when all 'so called' eligible guys and girls,feel the same old pain
all the worried parents turn on the heat
to achieve what they feel,is the most important feat,'MARRIAGE'

even this newspaper is carrying that ad,
not quite knowing how much they make innocent young people sad
'wanted: bride for a handsome guy',
although,even the guy knows in his heart,he isn't quite that,howmuchever he may try

the bride should be tall
this is the minimun requirement of the parent-turned-hungry animal,on the prowl
the girl should be fair,
certainly,she should be having long,black.glistening hair

the unwritten condition though is,her behaviour would be closely assessed,as though through a lens
obviously,to bear with the whims & fancies of her in laws,she should have patience,& in abundance

now comes the more important search for the groom
for he's the one who is as meticulously searched for,as though searching for a dust grain,sweeped by a broom
he should be tall,handsome & dark,
doesn't really matter if the contrast between him & the prospective bride is quite stark

in lakhs he should be earning
never mind if post marriage,for some other prettier faces,he develops a yearning
he should have no drug or similar dependence
who cares if his behaviour makes the bride so tense,as if sitting on a fence

now comes the most important aspect
which the familes never fail to inspect
the prospective bride & groom should be of the same caste
which is really ironical,coz who knows the surnames of the good samaritans;or those who are behind deadly bomb blasts

it's quite unfortunate,
but allow me to state,
i dearly hope our generation can change this,mate....
even if,it's a just a tad late

PAIN...

have we ever wondered...
about the meaning of an oft repeated word,
have we ever taxed our brain...
what's the real essence of the term,pain??

it infects every soul
in every heart it digs a hole
yet,none can explain it with conviction
because each version appears to be a figment of imagination

to the rich,it's the loss of few pieces of gold...
for the glamorous,its the fear of getting old,
the daily battles for a square meal,for the poor
pain for the elderly is the feeling that his days with the loved ones, are getting fewer

everyone thinks his pain is the most...
"i have suffered a lot",they all boast,
but how can one really compare suffering??
which spares none,be it the pauper,or the king

losers accept it as their fate
"i am destined to suffer",they state...
other mortals fight it out,albeit unsuccessfully,throughout their lives,till the end...
but the one who bucks this trend,
to overcome grief,and achieve his aim
is the one,the world salutes,as a LEGEND!
